The Car Park Project, London Workspaces

CLIENT: Generate Studio, London
ARTIST: Maria Rivans, Freida
SIZE / FINISH: 10m x 2.3m, Tactile
STORY: Generate Studio, a London based design studio, was tasked with transforming a Metropolitan Police car park into a new co-working space. Once the project was close to finishing they realised something was missing; the massive white wall that framed the space needed a lift. Having worked with The House of Artists in the past, they contacted Ben and Georgie to see if they could help to transform the wall into something with the potential to awe and inspire the people working in the building as well as add colour, drama and glamour to the industrial backdrop. The Maria Rivans ‘Frieda’ installation fulfils this brief beautifully.

“Having commissioned Ben to do some beautiful pieces of art in previous projects, we knew we were in for a treat. We were totally spoilt for choice with the artists on offer, but finally selected a Maria Rivans piece. The result blew us away and everyone in the space absolutely loves the installation. It finished the project off beautifully” Liz Gann, Director, Generate Studio

Private Residence, Brighton

CLIENT: Claire Richards
ARTIST: Sophie Darling, Colette
SIZE / FINISH: 4m by 2.2m, Antico
STORY: This installation is in the dining room of a beautiful regency home in Brighton. The client wanted the piece to make an impact but not be too dominating in the reasonably small space. We worked with them to select a piece that works well with the mid-century aesthetic and best reflects the light from the skylight.

“Of all the features we added to our home nothing gets as many compliments as the work we purchased from The House of Artists. Everyone who sees it is awed by its beauty. We loved working with HOA, they were always on hand with expert advice and handled the entire project seamlessly from conception through to installation. I just need more walls now!” Claire Richards

Private Residence, London

CLIENT: Abigail Rose
ARTIST: Belinda Frikh, Mata Hari
SIZE / FINISH: 5.2m x 2.3m, Linea
STORY: This installation is in the living room of a modern apartment in London. The client was drawn to Belinda’s work as she felt it captured the very essence of female sensuality and loved the strength, yet vulnerability of her female forms. The challenge was finding the right piece for the space, particularly with the door in the centre of the wall. We mocked up several of Belinda’s artworks and this crop of ‘Mati Hari’ filled the space beautifully.

“I have been a fan of Belinda’s work for years and to have this piece at this scale is amazing, I am totally in love with it. I had a fashion show in my apartment and it received more attention than the clothes!” Abigail Rose.

STORY: This installation can be found in the Laurent Perrier sponsored VIP area of a high end bar in Leeds. The client wanted a stunning back drop to this area which created a sense of luxury and exclusivity.

HOXTON APARTMENT,  LONDON

CLIENT: Jamie Kahn
PROJECT: Private residence, London
ARTIST: Ben Allen, Hope No 12
SIZE / FINISH: 4.5m by 2m, Antico
STORY: This installation can be found in the kitchen of an open plan warehouse apartment in Hoxton. The client wanted to create a feature wall that would compliment the modern and classic interior. They were familiar with Ben’s work and thought his bold aesthetic would work well in the space. They selected Hope Series No.12 as they said it created a juxtaposition against the plain white kitchen and inspired a sense of hope and excitement for the future. A feeling that anything is possible.

“Working with The House of Artists was a great experience from start to finish. They gave design advice to help me choose the perfect piece for my space, delivered the project on time and managed a complex installation with professionalism. I couldn’t be happier.” Jamie Kahn.
